Estates-10 Acre or more-tranferring or gifting

If you are going to buy, sell or gift an Estate of 4 Hectares or more, which land can be planted with coconut, you need to get permission from Tea, Rubber and Coconut Estates (Control of Fragmentation) Board in terms of the Amendment No. 20 of 2005 to the Tea, Rubber and Coconut Estates (Control of Fragmentation ) Act No. 2 of 1958.

4 Hectares is roughly 10 Acres. A9 R3 P21.47 to be precise.

For Tea and rubber estates the limit is 20 hectares.

Transfers made without the Board’s consent are considered null and void under the Act.
